I asked this question in the Maintenence forum but so far no answeres -

My car has a theft-proof lug nut on each wheel - they are round with a wavy groove at the top to fit a special socket.

Problem is, I bought the car used, and no socket. Can I get these at a dealer, or...?

I'm guessing that you've already checked the trunk, glove box and other places for the "key", correct? If you knew the manufacturer of the locking lug-nuts, you could ask them for a replacement. If not, you can ask your mechanic to split them and remove them that way. If you have a good set of rims on your car, I'd recommend getting another set of them. They normally come with 2 "keys". I keep one in my glove box for my car shop to use when needed.
