I have just decided that i want to upgrade my audio system in my 08 g6. I don't have the monsoon system.
I am planning on buying the 500watt alpine 1-channel amp and 1 12" JL audio w0v2 sub hooked up to the stock deck (is it worth it to hook up to a stock deck?). I will be getting these professionally installed. The final cost for all this, wiring and installation came out just over $700.

I am just curious if this a decent setup that will add a nice bump to my music if it is hooked up to the stock deck? and also wondering if I am getting a decent price on all of this?

Thanks

well i do know that the wiring harness for our cars the cost at a stero store its like 150.00 bucks but if your using the stock system it should be ok the only good thing good about a aftermarket stero is you can push more base and most aftermarket steros today have the option for a loud on and a amp boost..if it was me i would invest in a aftermarket stero...hope this helps

Wow. Your getting ripped if they want $700. Just saying.

Yeeaaa, Alpine MRP M500 Amp - $199.99. JL Audio 12W0v2 - $119.99 + enclosure - $59.99. Total that up and you got 400 dollars after tax. Which means they're charging you 300 for wiring and installation.

Ok thank you very much for the responses, I'm just curious how much the wiring should cost? and if I'm getting ripped off here what should I do? buy from crutchfield and attempt to install myself?(I have never done it before).

Also i plan on upgrading to an aftermarket stereo once I have more money to spend.
