Loose convertible tonneau wing hinge

Looks like the driver’s side “tonneau” wing of my 2007 convertible is a little more “floppy” than it should be. When lowering the top for the first time in a year, the roof was bumping up against the wing - eventually pulling the rubber clip out of the bottom of the tonneau.

After watching some open and close cycles, I noticed the wing was hanging lower than the passenger side and noted the play in the hinge (which I’m guessing is just a spring?).

Is this a standard enough part that I could obtain and swap with relative ease, or should I replace the entire wing?

The plastic that supports the hinge of the bat wing is a fairly common failure point. At some point you may hear the telltale 'crack' if the wing does not clear the roof on the way down. You might find there is already a fracture in the plastic. I do not have a good way to fix it but have often wondered if those hot staple plastic repair machines would work. I tried various glues, epoxy and even a drilled holes round it to use a zip tie to improve support for the plastic but in the end it failed. If I had my time again, I would probably try the hot staple. If it does fail, you can remove it and the top will still operate. You just end up with an unsightly bat wing sized hole.

Hope you find a way to fix it.
To note, none of the plastic itself is damaged. My question is specially about the hinge(/spring?) that holds it against the tonneau, which has lost its tension.
