Mods for convertible exhaust was shot down

Are you just trying to get wiring for the camera to the rear of the car? Getting through the interior of the car past the back seat shouldn't be too much of a problem, and the wiring will emerge into the area behind the seat back in the trunk. The issue then is to get it out the back.

Grab a flashlight and get under either side of the car behind the back wheel, Look up above the exhaust pipes to the flat part of the body structure and you'll see a 1 1/2" (or so) hole plug inserted from the inside, There's one on either side. On the inside of the trunk, you can remove either plastic side panel and I'll bet you can access the inside of the hole plugs. I'd try the left (driver's side) as the hydraulic pump for the roof is on the right side. It should be easy enough to remove the plug and if there's no other interference you could route your wiring through a grommet in the plug. From below the car, you should be able to thread the wiring to the vicinity of the license plate light in the rear bumper cover. I haven't done this myself yet, but that's probably where I'd look first to see if I could get there. The position of the camera (near the license plate) might be a bit low, but you can be the judge. Removing the trunk side panel and hole plug won't cause any damage if you change your mind. Just be careful with the plastic rivets. Good luck. - Mark
