Thought I would share my experience with the G6 for anyone who cares.

I purchased my 2006 G6 V6 on the 28th of June 2005 and there have been no major mechanical problems. I currently have 19,800 miles on it, avg fuel economy of 30mpg, avg speed of 35mph (note: DIC has not been reset since the car had 9000 miles on it).

Around 6000 miles I warped the roters quite bad with two hard stops. Instead of having them machined I just lived with it and they are starting to smooth out to the point where I hardly feel it anymore.

I had one instance where I got in the car in the morning and my clock was wrong and the odometer was showing KM instead of MILES.

The car has shifted rough since day one and still shifts the same to date. :(

The minor door/dash rattles were fixed by installing a 10" subwoofer in the trunk :D

I have intermittant (might happen once a month) hot overstart issues. Doesn't matter if I use the remote start or the key in the ignition.

I noticed a slight leak from the transmission around 2000 miles but that could be due to the Prolong I poured in which put it slightly over the Full level. (no I didn't spill any when pouring it in)

Tire wear is normal. I would say that I have at least 60% tread remaining. (I rotate the tires every 6000 miles).

Overall, this has been a great car and I would recommend one to anyone looking for an efficient midsize car.

Little over year

Mine is 13 months old and I have 26,500 miles on it.

Just did new pads and resurface rotars.

Oil change with regular oid every 3,000 miles.

Rotated tires every 6,000 and still in excellent shape.

I agreee that it is a greate car for the money.

Wow, you should be able to get 40k miles out of pads and many more on un warped roters. Last time I checked, my pads still looked like new however the roters are fubar again after a hard stop on the expressway yesterday.

Mine will be a year old next week. I have about 19.5K miles. My avg. speed is 54mph (I have never reset it), yes I drive mostly highway. I'm getting about 28 mpg. It still smells like a new car!

My G6 V6 is Liquid Silver with Pano roof. It is opened up all the way everytime I can. Only have 6566 miles on it. We tow it behind our Motorhome. Just got back from a 4 month trip to CA and back to TN. Put about 2,000 on that trip of non towed miles. Had a gas gauage that never wanted to read full but they finally got that fixed, it took a year to come up with the fix. Called GM direct and they said they were working on it. Had to tighten up the Pano roof twice in a year. Other then that it has been great. I love all the red dash lights. It really looks sharp.
