Hi,
I have a 2008 G6 with the base stereo. I'm contemplating replacing the stock stereo system with a new system that would incorporate a stereo/nav/backup monitor. I've been looking at a few pioneer and other makes that are all lcd (7" lcd). I would also want to keep the existing functionality (fuel range, tire pressure, ...).

Has anyone done this with their G6?

I have a few questions:
1. what is the best nav system (cameral, lcd, ...) for the g6?
2. where to mount the camera (spoiler/roof/license plate frame, ...).

To repalce your factory radio you need......

For radio's you will need a flipout
A like pionners and kenwood's(Kenwood's use Garmin GPS maps)

For the cam location the have LP brackets that is best to use.

I'm hoping to avoid a flip out type untit. I prefer the permanent full screen style that would fill the space currently occupied by the existing stereo. Do you have any recomendations for a setup like that?

You want a Double din unit, you can fit one in there but you will loose the DIC, because the current dash kit with the DIC is only for a single din and that would require a flip out unit.

If you want to keep the DIC with your info, you can only get a single din sized radio, because you must get the metra kit. The metra kit only fits a single din, so if you want a screen and nav it must be a single that flips out..

this is a bad idea, u will lose all the information that your stereo currently gives you: Temperature, Tire Pressures, Mileage, MPG, Trip Meter. If you are seriously considering still doing this, mount it on your license plate frame and go for an LCD screen. Good Luck.
