I too just purchased a 05 g6, mine is a gt loaded 47k miles I paid $10k but I went with the gm certified to get 12 months/12k mile warranty. If I was you I would want at least one year in case of problems. I was quoted 2k for 3 years on a 07 I was looking at. $1100 is not bad, only $366 a year insurance.
