If you bought it used, the odometer may have been tampered with. Don't take it to the dealer you bought it from (if you in fact did buy it from a dealer.)
If someone had to replace the instrument cluster for what ever reason. The season odometer value may be stored in the IPC, the Driver Information Center (DIC), or the Integrated Body Control Module (IBCM), also commonly called a Body Control Module (BCM) cluster for whatever reson they would have to get the info.
There is a TSB for retrieving this info and that may very well tell you if it was tampered with.
its not tampered with nobodies touched it they all do that! factory defaults cheap wires bad graound blown inline fuzes hiden everywhere! some people wiggle wires add diaelctric grease to pcm, bang bcm, fuzes to many issues its junk! go get 100 bucks from junk yard before your in thousands! and still no ride
Welcome to the club. An OBD II Scan tool will allow you to read the diagnostic codes. Some of the auto parts stores will read the codes for free. It might also be worth clearing them and see if any of the same codes come back. For the odometer reading "error" you could try adding dielectric grease to the female end of the BCM connectors and work it in with the plugs. Sometimes it is just a poor connection. Hope this helps
