06 GT has electric steering 09 SE V6 has hydraulic. I like the hydraulic response and feel better then the electric. Other than the transmission their the same car. 09 has Onstar which I like for my wife. Gives her some security if she gets into any trouble.
Haven't noticed a difference in performance yet as were still breaking in the car. Only 300K on it so far.
Mine is the 06 GT with Metalic Silver paint and wife has the Black boy they look good side by side.
I had a 05 GT before I got the 07 GT. They were about the same off the line then the 07 pulls better. 07 and up V6's use the new VVT {LZ4}destroked 3.9{I'm sure every one already knows that} While the 05's and 06's have the LX9. The GT's have a 3.29 gear while the SE's have a 3.05 gear. Enjoy them both!

Wow! That's lots of miles for an '09 - bet you meant 300 miles.
I used to have an '06 GT and now have an '09 GT, main difference I've noticed is MPG the '06 got a solid 25, the '09 gets about 21.5 (only has a little over 500 miles). Somebody here said the '09 has a "de-stroked 3.9L" and that may account for the reduced MPG.

It was me. But 07 thru 09 3.5 V6's are all destroked 3.9's. But the 07 has 224hp compared to the 08 and 09's 219hp
