I read the other day that in the 2008 models you are not able to separate the headlights to paint the bezels. Does anyone know if this is true?

yup...its the 05's and 06's that have the sealant you can split and reseal.

From what I have been told....yes.

Nothing is wrong with the 08. They just used diff sealant.
The black sealant was the ones they can heat up and pry apart....

If I remember right the newer sealant is a tan color & is stronger (for a better seal = better headlight). So just the opposite. The 08's are better!

Unless you want to modify them....LOL

I have an 06 sedan. I'm thinking of taking the headlights apart to install LED halos and see what it looks like to paint the chrome with tint spray for a smoked look.


Is it a pain to reseal them? do you need to apply new adhesive, or can you just reheat what's already there?
