I have a 2007 Pontiac G6 STANDARD. What tires can I use for this vehicle? Would 16" look funny ?

I don't think so. Although I think 17" or 18" would look better. You say tires, are you also refering to the rims? Tire size (225/17/50)?
Sorry GEE, I MEANT TIRES. I right now have 225/17 and have a front driver tire with a patch and the front passenger with a nail and want to get new tires but so expensive and don't know if i trust the 215/16 for $80 each compared to 225/17 that are selling for $160+. I'm going on a 4 hr drive and my coworker tells me i should be okay with a tire that is patched and just wait till can afford good tires. What do you think ?

Try the link below, you will not be disappointed. I just bought off of the internet a set (4) of Falken 912 225/50/17 (at $95 per tire) for my car. I did a lot of research on them and they are good tires. I also bought the chrome valve stems and the lifetime warrenty for an extra $20 per tire. A local shop installed them for total of $65. Total cost for me was approx. $525.It will be very hard to beat the price! The delivery was another surprise, I called on a Tuesday and was driving on them that Friday afternoon.

My tires made number 8, WOOT!
A proper patch on a tire will last as long as the tire no problem.

Not to mention you can't mount a 16" diameter tire on your existing 17" rims. Can't possibly be more expensive to get a new 17" tire, than to get a new 16" tire and a wheel for it to mount to.

You also don't need to use a 16" tire on the front of the car if you're still running your other front wheel in the 17" size. If the 2 tires on the front end are far enough off in overall diameter, it could cause transmission problems down the road.

And what mrslcom said - a properly patched tire should last a long time - unless the shop that patched it told you not to drive on it very long. If the tire were that bad off though - they likely wouldn't have patched it all for liability concerns.
x2 on what mrslcom said.
