Ever since I purchase my G6, I have been unhappy with the headlight performance. I drive a lot at night and there just is no 'down the road' visibility. I've tried installing 100 watt off road bulbs and even tried HIDs and still sucks.. Considering changing the complete headlamp housing assy to something different.. Anyone else find the lighting inferior and have you found a solution?

I haven't had any issues. They worked great with sylvania ultras. Then I switched to HIDs I had to aim them up a little bit but I can see pretty darn well. And I also do quite a lot of night driving.

If you dont care about cutting into the cross member behind the headlights you could do a projector retrofit. Not really going to get any better than that. Could give the Eagle Eye projector headlights a try aswell.

Make sure you aim those puppys properly. I have HID's in my stockers, aimed them up and ppl hate me!
I haven't had any problems here! I had to go up a little bit. I've got a good spread and have no problems with blinding people, I even drove down the street against a buddy who told me it was fine. But the thing is now my highbeams don't even hit the pavement. Just all the tree tops and signs.

Did you use 55w HIDs?

I used to have 35w and it was ok light output. But when I put in the 55w it was a huge difference. Lit up more than twice as much area and much easier to see all around. I absolutely love having 55w hids. Idk how they'd fare in the eagle eyes bc I have mine in the stockers and don't have any first hand experience with the EE's but I'm very happy with my choice to go with the 55w. I have them in 6k and its super bright and nice and white.

Higher color temperature doesn't effect light output. It's our human eyes that lose sensitivity above daylight color temperature. Our eyes are most sensitive to color temperature that's just below daylight (ie. off-white).

IMO, do 35W 4300k or 5000k. That will give you good output without being too bright for oncoming vehicles.
