Sometimes when I’m taking slow turns (usually to the right) my power steering will go out. If I restart the car it works just fine. Steering wheel is also shakey and has lots of play when going slow. Drives great on the interstate though. Could it possible just be steering torque sensor ?

Intermediate shaft is defective. Need to replace this part and you also need to apply electrical connector grease to the electric power steering connector. Happened to me with a 2008 G6 I had.
