I was sitting at a red light and a message popped up saying Power Steering, and the ESC light came on. I had no power steering. I turned the car off and back on quickly, and it was back to normal and I drove another 3-4 miles into work with no issues.

About 1-2 years ago I had an issue where I would be driving and the engine would go into limp mode, the ESC and Power Steering lights would come on, and I would have to sit for 5-10 minutes and turn the car back on. The dealership I took it to ended up finding some busted wiring going from the motor to the alternator, so they replaced the alternator and the wiring.

The car is not turning off, but it's the same ESC / Power Steering messages I was getting before. Could these be related? I am sure the work they did would still be under some sort of warranty but not sure if it's related.

These cars don't have power steering pumps right? It's all electric? I wasn't sure if I needed fluid or what to check first.

I have driven about 100 miles since this issue happened and it has not repeated itself yet. Do you guys think it's worth getting it looked out or just wait for it to happen again?

Thanks, I will check that out. I think it's weird the ESC light came in while I was not moving.

So do these cars have a power steering pump somewhere, or just the electronic assist pump? I can't see anywhere to add/check fluid so I am guessing it's all electric.
