lately i have been having a problem with my remote start, when i get up for work and start my car while i finish getting ready, it doesn't work. but it only does that when it's really cold out, usually when my car is covered in snow.

late at night when i get ready to leave work and it's cold out, it's starts by remote just fine.


any ideas as to y it might be doing that? I've been working 80 hrs a week for the past month without a day off, so i haven't really been able to drop by the dealers to get my buddy's opinion.

does it work when you are near the car in the cold? could be the remote needs a new battery. have you tried your other remote?

mine wasn't working on my 06 g6 gt and took both half apart and found that the retainer that holds the battery in place fell apart..all i did was resolder it and my problem was fix.make sure you use flux and good solder,and a good soldering iron..
and you only have to solder the one tab the other 2 pins just fall in place.

it doesnt work no matter what distance i am from it. but it only does this occasionally.

replaced the batteries in both remotes recently when i was having trouble with the lock buttons, unfortunately the contacts in the 2nd remote r shot and i need to get them replaced.

if i knew how to take the remote apart and solder i would, but i would screw it up royally.

guess it's a trip to the dealer for me. :/

you replace the batteries then you know how to take it apart then.
You solder on the one tap that holding the battery in place if that's what screwed up if not replace it.
I seen some on ebay go for cheap and there's a way to reprogam it in your owners manual so it works for your car.....15.95 is better then 250.00 from the stealership.....
