So I purchased a Cobra XRS 9340 Radar / Laser Detectors and now I'm wondering if anyone still uses Radar / Laser Detectors anymore like they did back in the 90's ? I also purchased a Cobra ESD 8200, Aslo does anyone use a different Kind and how do you like them, any info on Radar / Laser Detectors would be great.... i have not opened them as of yet they are still new in box, depending on what anyone says they may go back ??? cobra is pretty low end, Escort and Bel are pretty high end and I personally like my Valentine 1 I have.

I don't know if Canada is as strict as VA, but you cannot have a radar detector in the car....period, whether it is plugged in or even if it is in the trunk.

Addtionally they can actually confiscate the device and use it as "evidence".

Hopefully Canada isn't as bad, but you want to be very very careful or you'll be out a nice new detector.

I so want to get one and finally get pulled over for something other than speeding (ok, or not at all), but then be able to say what you just said... "why yes, officer, this is an illegal radar... but speeding is illegal, too, and I was looking for a change..."

There are forums
about what radar/laser detector your state/city/town uses.
Its been awhile since ive looked for it but its interesting. So you can make sure you have
the correct setup.
