Rattle in Front End

Here's the situation: '07 Pontiac G6 2.4L sedan with about 41K miles on it.

Had a rattle in the front end (muffled rattle heard best when driving at slow speeds like something is loose) so took it into the dealer to get it checked out. They replaced both front strut mounts and sway bar links. 2 weeks later, the rattle is back. This can't be the strut mounts again can it? Like I said, it sounds like something is loose in the suspension. Doesn't matter if your turning or going straight. No vibration or anything or feedback from the wheel, just this annoying muffled rattle sound in the front end.

Going to take it back in to get it looked at again when I get some time, just wondering what I should be telling them it is or where to look since they obviously didn't get it right the first time. TIA

I hope you didn't do all this work for something like a heat shield coming loose...
It is still under the GM certified used warranty so it's not costing me anything other than inconvenience. Last time I took it in and they replaced the strut mounts and sway bar links, they said the links were actually broke so even if that wasn't the problem, it was still helpful. I wanted to put it up on a jack and get underneath it to see if the links are busted again and see what else it could be, but it's so damn cold outside I'd rather just take it in.
I have the exact same thing, my boyfriend thinks I'm crazy and doesn't hear it. Says wait to see if it gets worse, and it's worse in cold weather right??? I thought mine was the Master Cylinder break fluid reservoir cause it kinda jiggles a bit in there so he zip tied it. Today it was warmer and I did not hear it too badly, but I still do hear it...sooo slight... I too took mine in for the noise and they said it was the steering I Shaft. But it was not the fix... I have a '07 Convertible. Let me know what you find out... Sux, it's just annoying.

Seems like they always want to say it's the I-steering shaft, but it's never the problem. I have to think if it was the I-steering shaft rattling, I'd be feeling it in the wheel. Plus I've heard that when the I-steering shaft is bad, it makes a horrible clunk noise when turning, not the rattle we're hearing regardless of whether we're turning or not.
