Hi everyone!

I have a 2006 Pontiac G6 GT with a little over 100k miles on it. I noticed within the past week that when i step on the gas pedal while at a low speed, there is a rattling sound that seems to be coming from the front. It seems to go away when I am at a higher speed. I checked it when idling and when I step on the gas, it does not make any noise.

Can anyone help me to figure out what might be the reason?

Thanks!

Could be a problem with the exhaust heat shield. Lots of people seem to have that problem. I believe the shield can be bent to keep it from contacting whatever it is rattling against. Someone who has had the problem might have more detail. There are also some other threads here about it. Do a forum search.

I also have a Pontiac G6 2005. 207,000 miles. Ran great until today someone stopped abruptly. I hit the beakes harder than normal. It stalled, had to jump it. Now there's a bad rattling problem coming from what seems the engine area. Any ideas?? Much appreciated.
