I have been experiencing noise in the rear suspension for the last year. The dealer tech heard it, but could not issolate it. I have changed both rear shocks and inspected th rear control arms and bushings as best as I could. The passenger side upper control arm had signs of bushing wear. I changed it last week. Still annoying banging / noise coming from rear end. The body panels, deck and trunk have all been excluded from this noise. Anyone experiencing this problem? Please Help. Thank-You James

Rear Suspension Noise found and fixed

Upon several attemps to find and fix a terrible rear noise, It was discovered that the rear stabilizer bar mounting bushings were worn enough that the bar would continue to rattle all the time in motion.
I removed the rear suspension assembly and of course snapped off three of the four bolts (90k miles). I replaced the bushings after drilling and cleaning threads out. NO NOISE ANYMORE. What a relief.

I am having the same noises. I tried looking for the noise while someone was rocking the car side to side but I could not locate it. Sounds like its is coming from the trunk but when you listen from the trunk it is definitely from under the car. Can you get to the rear bushing easily? I have heard you have to remove the fuel tank. I cannot find any information online.
