I bought a 2005 G6 GT 2 months ago for my 17yr. old daughter, and it came without an owners manual. The car has remote start, but we can't figure out how to make it work. Any ideas? She is also having "cd error" issues as well. Sounds like a common problem.

The car has remote start, but we can't figure out how to make it work. Any ideas?

Press the door lock button on the remote once, release it, then press and hold the remote start button for at least 2 seconds. If the car does not start when you try this and the remote start option is truly present then there is a problem that must be repaired. You can find a list of conditions that prevent the remote start from working in the owners manual.

She is also having "cd error" issues as well. Sounds like a common problem.

Can't help you there, but perhaps you might want to try to replace it with one of the newer models of the stock radio that has an AUX Input jack so she can use her iPod or similar.

Thanks Wingyj14, and MattInSoCal. I thought the Cd player was toast when I saw how many other people were having the same problem. We will look for a replacement. We were able to get the remote start to work (she thinks it's the coolest thing ever) so thanks for the help on that as well!
