Halogen bulbs contain gas under pressure. Handling a bulb improperly could cause it to shatter into flying glass fragments. To help avoid personal injury:
- Turn off the lamp switch and allow the bulb to cool before changing the bulb
- Leave the lamp switch OFF until the bulb change is complete
- Always wear eye protection when changing a halogen bulb
- Handle the bulb only by its base (avoid touching the glass)
- Keep dirt and moisture off the bulb
- Keep halogen bulbs out of the reach of children
- Open the hood.
NOTE
Hold the headlamp to prevent damage to the headlamp or to the fascia. - Remove the bolts from the headlamp assembly.
- Remove the push-in-retainers across the front fascia.
- Pull the headlamp forward to release the locating tab from the front of the fender, then lift the headlamp up to release from the vehicle.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the headlamp assembly.
Removing and installing the headlamp
- Connect the headlamp bulb to the headlamp electrical connector.
- Position the headlamp assembly to the vehicle. Press the headlamp downward to engage the locating tabs to the front edge of the fender.
- Install the bolts to the headlamp assembly and tighten to 18 inch lbs. (2 Nm).
- Install the push-in-retainers across the front fascia.
- Close the hood.
- Inspect the headlamp alignment. Adjust the headlamp alignment if necessary.
