I was thinkin about cuttin off my Resonator and adding straight pipes for sound..cheaper than buyin a whole exchaust..any opinions?

(RXPGTP)..what does the cherry bomb do?..I cut off the resonators and did straight pipes..it sounds a little "civic" at higher rpms..does that cherry bomb take care of that???
