I have a 2005 GT with the 3.5. Recently I've been having charging issues where the car decides to die on me mid-traffic. After 2 new alternators in the past month, I've traced it down to the 10 guage wire that runs from the alternator down to the battery. There are no fusible links (as far as I can tell) on this wire, and it connects to the same contact as the battery cable.

My question is, can I pull this cable out, and run a new 4 guage wire from the alternator straight to the battery (I already have side-bolt extender for battery)? Will this damage anything? I can't imagine that it would... I'd also be placing a 150amp inline fuse between the alternator and battery near the battery.

Thanks for the replies in advance!
