I like the design, but I would expect a few LED's to fault later down the road.

Pics?

I like them for sure but I'd be nervous about random leds burning out. Best of luck with them though. They seem like a decent product...

im guessing you have them tails already installed but for everyone else its super simple i can post pics if anyone wants them but ill explain cause this took me literally over an hour to figure out how to install these bad boys, the insturctions that come with them are very VERY pathetic...
1. unbolt your stock tail light
2. once you have the tail light out disconect the harness from the car, remove ALL THE BULBS EXCEPT THE REVERSE LIGHT, just twist them off, REMEMBER WHERE YOUR REVERSE LIGHT BULB IS cause the reverse light on the led tails uses the same bulb not a led bulb...
3. once you have the harness all the way off the stock lights take all the bulbs out of the harness EXCEPT THE REVERSE LIGHT BULB
4. now your left with 1 bulb in the harness and 2 empty slots, this part is self explanitory you cant mess this part up cause the led tail connectors have 2 different connectors just plug the other 2 harness connectors in and put the reverse light bulb in the new tails install the connector to the car, bolt on and BAM you got yourself new led tails...

the reason this took me so long is cause i have never done led tails before so i had no idea you had to use your stock tail light harness and the insturctions dont say anywhere you had to use it...

ik this is only a how to but if any of you are thinking of getting these i definitly recommend these lights i have the smoked ones from sabersport and they are BRIGHT AS HELL...im not kidding i cant beleive how bright they really are.. they are very cool looking i would hate to be behind me on the road, NOT KIDDING....so far i love them, they fit perfect look great and are a very nice upgrade for 220$

if anyone needs pics let me know and i hope this helped

o and by the way i forgot to say that gold box is the resistor...the reason for the huge box is that the leds take more power to run than the regular stock bulbs without it you would blow fuses, and or they wouldnt turn on which is actually a major problem with these tails...luckily if anyone is reading this buy them from ebay from the company sabersport and you wont have ANY problems they put a nice BIG resistor on it, some companys dont put a big enough 1 and some ppl ik on the other forum (g6p) are having blow parking light fuses from the resistor not being big enough..

id like to point out that this is not true. LEDs consume far less power than conventional bulbs and the resistor is there to prevent you from pushing too much current through the LED and burning it out. If they are not turning on this simply means there is too much resistance in the line.

i have never heard of a resistor being to BIG but i could be very wrong i just posted what i have read and what i have gathered thru what i read ik on the other site like i said ppl were having problems with the resistor being to small and they had to hard wire in a bigger 1 in order not to blow fuses i thought leds consumed MORE power i guess im wrong this part i used what i thought was common sense on i just figured there is 1 tiny stock bulb vs. the litereally 20 leds in this tail...the tail actually has more but i would have to count how many so i went with what i thought was common sense...1 tiny bulb vs. all them... i thought it would consume more sorry my bad

its all good. i would assume if people on g6p were having problems it would be with it not being hooked up properly or something like that.

The point of the resistor is to lower the current that travels through the LED. Too much current and you will fry the LED.

You guys don't quite have it right with the need for the resistor along with the LED lights. The required resistance to operate the lights properly is already built in to the bulb assembly. The LEDs draw far less power (current) to operate than the incandescent bulbs. The resistor needs to be added in parallel with your brake/turn signals so that the turn signal flasher operates at normal speed. Without it, the lights would flash very fast and may not even stay on long enough to be seen. Of course drawing all that extra power for the resistor (which turns it into massive amounts of heat) totally defeats the power savings from using LED bulbs...

The only reason a fuse should blow with the addition of the LEDs is if the value of the resistor is too low, causing too much current to be drawn. A lot of people calculate the resistance based on a lower voltage (12) instead of the up to almost 15 at which our electrical system operated. That little bit of extra voltage translates into 25% more current consumed, which can be enough to blow the fuse.

lol matt i swear i read what you said like 10 times and still cant figure it out what your saying lol (no offense) i guess thats why your thing says professional geek holy cow i did not know there was so much to it...sorry that i posted the wrong info i THOUGHT i knew what i was talking about i guess i was WAY wrong...i beleive my how to is pretty correct for the most part but the whole led power and resistor wow lol not so much

I want to thank 2pimp4u for the instructions on how to install the Sabersport Led Tail Lights. I just finished installing them and they look great. I had no idea how to do it before and I was lost. After reading his post, I plugged it in and they look amazing. On to the next project.
