Man, what a weekend. Driving, speeding, down this road going to a friends house and Im not really paying attention and when I do regain my train of thought I almsot miss his entrance to his nieghborhood. Going way to fast and not thinking, I slam on the brakes and take a hard right. Car TCS kicks in, brakes screeching, I slam right into a curb going atleast 60, could be more or less. My eyes really weren't on the speedometer. My eyes were on the palm trees I almost wrap my car around. If I hadn't turned hard enough or woulda been alittle fast I woulda ended up with a few airbags blown and god knows what else.
So yeah, car hits the curb in a sharp turn. Huge bang and I drive the car off to the side. I get down from the car and get past all the smoke from the tires and see my front drivers side tire hitting up against the front of the driver side door, WAY OFF center... huge shreds of tire all over the ground and some still hanging from the front tire(some were like 2ft long and reallyTHICK). I get a closer look at the car and theres really nothing left of the wheelwell. Its all tore up and wedged between the tire and the car. The "chromo-tech" rim is cracked and some pieces of the metal on the floor. The bottom plastic claddin along the doors is bent down cause the tire hit it down and dragged it. Minor body damage. Bassically, the biggest thing I saw was of course the fron axel...
So that was friday. Today I heard what the rough estimate is for repairs and hear what was damaged. Bassically:
Bent/broke the front axel
Something about my driveshaft?
Suspension
ABS
Electrical systems
Steering
Control arm
some kinda joints
Two rims, the front impact one and I guess the rear one also took a huge hit
A tire or two
Total? Over $4,000...
I mean theres more, but this is all I could remember. Man. And this is only a rough estimate. I'll find out more later. Dang, i think back and think. Why didn't I take some pictures. Lol, I had a camara. But at the time that wasn't too important. Im thankful no one else was involved or anything. And that I managed to turn the car sharp enough to avoid those trees. Well, I'll keep ya'll updated. =X
