I have a 06 G6 sedan non-GT, and my friend got an 07 G6 GT four doors as well, the only difference being that his is newer and has the sport shift...if we were to race which would be faster?

him....The GT.

Couple reasons...

You have 3.05 at the axel and he has the GT or 3.55 gears.

He also has a different 3.5 than you.

They changed to a WT 3.5 in 2007.

Your 2006 is an LX9 3.5L SFI 201 HP @ 5600 rpm, 222 lb-ft @3200 rpm

His 2007 is an LZ4 3.5L WT 224HP @ 5800; 220 lb-ft @ 4000

You will feeel a difference with an intake.

Classic Performance makes an exhaust for the G6 called the GT-R.
Again thats what I have and Ive been very happy.

Can an intake really increase my performance that much? And I've never found any tunes...where can I get those?

Oh and congradulations on the win Lampoon

It really depends on how well the intake was designed from the factory. For some reason, nobody ever wants to hear the engine, so they have to design it to be super quiet. All the quiet takes away power. I know on the Mazda 6, intakes can give 15+ hp at the wheels. But that is because it leans the factory tune out as well. Either way, good gains can be had from the intake modifications. After all, more air in equals more power to the wheels!
