I have an '05 G6 with 69k. I have a soft grinding noise coming from the passenger side under the hood when I accelerate. I think it's a bad tensioner or a blown head gasket, but I assumed it would toss a code up if I was losing pressure from a blown gasket so I'm leaning toward the tensioner. I changed out the gasket on the flexpipe last year along with front brakes and rotors. I'm a decent shadetree mechanic but if there's any daily mechs on here it would be awesome to get your input.

I also noticed that this occurred about the same time I noticed a rattling sound coming when I put the heat up to 1 so I will probably go ahead and replace the tensioner/belt anyhow and let you know.
