Hi Im new and I have a 2007 G6 V6 and Ive been having a lot of problems with my brakes. I recently got new brake pads in Nov but my brakes continue to squeak beyond belief. This is not the occasional light squeaking, this is gut wrenching, nail bitting incredibly annoying, very loud squeaking that wont stop. Mostly if not only from the front brakes. I had it looked at and the place wanted to charge me 480 dollars for brakes pads and resurfacing my rotors which dont need it. I have semi mettalic brake pads which is what was on it when I bought it but the guy said that the dealer calls for ceramic brake pads only which you may or may not know are more expensive then other kind. I dont know what to do because I just recently got new brake pads.... Help me please!:confused:

You can coat the pad where it connects to the caliper with anti-squeel.
Its a glue type paste stuff they sell at most parts stores.
Pull your pads off and paint it on then put them back in.

DO NOT put it on your rotor or the part of your pad that contacts your rotor.

Its will help.

I agree w/ Lampoon and I would add; who did your brake job before? They may not have turned the rotors.

BTW welcome Lala!

Clean the surface of the pads by lightly rubbing on the ground and then clean your clamps where the pads go into the assemblies, and if need be apply BG stop squeal, to the pad face, and let that dry before putting back into the assemblies.
The rubbing of the pads on the ground might be the easiest, but it also might be temporary.

Thanx~!

Thanx you guys for all the help. I applied the stop squeak and it helped for about a day or two and while my brakes are not as loud as before they have start squeaking AGAIN. I might just have to give in and buy new brake pads AGAIN.... but definitely ceramic this time. Thanx again and if anyone has anymore suggestions they would be greatly appreciated!!!

You didnt get ceramic pads? Do you have stock rotors?
Did you reuse the clips or put on new ones...?

My G5 had squeaking problems and I had to replace the rotors bc they were warped. Apparently I'm a little hard on the brakes. My bad. But that got ride of the squeaking.
