Speaker Frequencies

Have a 2009 G6/GT/Convertible. Monsoon stereo and Amp.

Replaced Head Unit with Pioneer AVH-4200NEX.

Pulled door panel off of passenger door to see how they are wired.

Each speaker has its own wiring coming from the Monsoon amp.
Noticed a capacitor next to the tweeter.

Frequencies are separated I believe coming from the amp, but the Mid and tweeter may be getting the same signal and the cap. takes care of it. Or the cap. was needed to move the frequency for the vehicle. Am I correct or not ?

Pictures of the front speakers included.

What do you know about the back speakers ?

Crap... Pictures didn't post... Why ? Drag and dropped (14) of them... Not working...

The cap passes the higher frequencies to the tweeter while blocking the lower frequencies. So the cap functions as the crossover network.

Also, the lower audio frequencies typically have much more voltage than the higher frequencies. By blocking these from the tweeter, the cap prevents those mid (and low) range signals from damaging the tweeter.

HTH.
