Bought an 09 g6 last week. Love everything about the car except how stiff the steering is.
Drove a friend 07 G6 to compare and his steering was light as a feather. Very confused.
My question..... does the steering vary that drastic from year to year? Also is there anyway to have a mechanic adjust the steering to make it less stiff

...sounds like theres definitly something wrong. you really should take it in and have someone take a look at it.

Not sure if it applies to the 07s, but the 05s and 06s had electric assist power steering instead of the usual hydraulic power steering. The electric power steering made it quite easy to move the steering wheel. I know GM eventually killed the electric assist power steering because of the failure rate in the Malibu's and 6's.
