Yeah, I'm wondering that same thing about the center-piece. I just posted on another "steering wheel controls" thread about compatibility of switching from 4-prong steering wheel to 3-prong.
I guess those steering wheels on ebay are from totalled cars and no longer have the airbag? I dunno. I wish it could be simple.....
