dude your walking in some hostel territory asking about forced induction. lets just say everybody on here is going to say NO! and then say demeaning crap to me cuz there jealous cuz ive figured out how to supercharge the g6. and its true...there is no manufactured "kit", BUT you can supercharge the 3500. it has to be custom made...like the intake manifolds, yada yada. im in the proccess and its a biotch but it will be worth the time and effort. pics within the next several weeks.

People have tried, people much smarter than you could ever hope for. And they have failed. You run out of room. Even if you COULD turbocharge it, the tranny would die before you would get to the end of the block. But go ahead James, argue your point, I enjoy when the people from G6Performance come over and flame the hell out you, you've have a few threads dedicated to your foolishness over there. :crazy:

lol. i dont need to say more...i've driven my car with the s/c in it and of course it has to start to drive right? we are working on getting the motor to run smoother. time will tell if we can get the motor to run smooth. if not then i failed. bet you would be happy. but FYI, it does drive and run...but definatley needs lots of work to be driven farther than around the block.
no pics or videos yet. im waiting til a few more people tell me the impossible IS in fact possible. hit me up people, i got all the time in world.:beer:

Did you rebuild the bottom end? Forged pistons, rings gapped for S/C use, spliced main bolts, etc? Also how did you reinforce your valve train and what were your final flow numbers on your intake/exhaust after you had the machine work done. Im pretty curious about the whole process. I dont have alot of experience with EFI, but im pretty knowledgeable about ol skool engine building and it would seem the basics would apply both to EFI and Carbed engines. Personally i prefer Bojangles, not KFC so dont hold that against me. Thanks for any input you may have.

Give Sts Turbo systems a call.
You are going to have to beefen up the engine internals and the tranny as well, the only option with that small engine bay, is to do the muffler back system(pic below).
In all honesty I would rather stuff a 3900 engine in there and run high compression and a hot cam.

WOW! Im new to the forum and had no idea about the whole turbo debate!?!
But from my own account I know it can be done because i have done it in a friends G6!:bow2:
I used a universal kit and actually directed it into the fender like I did with my previous car "SHO" (ya i know) and it works great! As far as ruining your transmission it can happen! But the kit I got is laptop tuning compatible and tuned it to limit the psi to a safe amount.
I know alot of people on here will be like ya right! but i actually know what im doing! I am a certified mechanic through ASE!

Anything is possible if you have enough money, and it seems like turboing/supercharging a G6 with a V6 takes more money then brains. I agree with FUZZ about no pics... no supercharged G6 V6. If i was doing something like that I would be posting all sorts of pics, especially if I had it going around the block and was just needing to fine TUNE it, which I would have found someone to do it before attempting such an extensive project. But thats just me, I like my ducks being in a row.

So basically what I just got out of this thread is that no one has successfully turbocharged a g6?
the internals can't handle the extra power? even on low boost? my xb can go from 108 to 150 without having to change the internals(any more than that would wreck it though)

You don't need to do a full engine build for around 7lbs, which is a good amount of boost with out being too harmful on a stock motor. I've turbocharged a 2.4, the 3500 would easier in my opinion. Would cost more but would be a lot more friendly to work on (not that rear mount b.s. either).

So I could turbocharge the 3.9 and run it at 6-8lbs and not have anything to worry about? Well, not too much to worry about

Pretty much, although I'd start low, like 5lbs. Then work your way up via MBC while tuning.
