I have a used 2006 G6 4 door sedan. It has approximately 65K to 70K miles. I am also experiencing most of the sound, shakes, rattles and noises that I have read about here. I would like to start fixing these items. I don't have an extended warranty so I know that I will be spending some $$. This is my wifes car and I have two kids that ride in it on a daily basis and I want to make sure that they are safe. What should I fix first in order of severity and safety?

• Steering clunk
• Front suspension rattle
• Vibration when breaking

If you have instructions, parts list or know where I can download them please let me know. If you know of a trusted mechanic in the Flint, MI area who is knowledgeable with the G6 problems I would like to get their contact information as well. I don't want to deal with the GM "stealer"ships.

they just put out a somewhat of a recall on the steering for some 6's, you might want to check on that. The brakes are pretty easy to fix, upgrade the rotors and new pads.

what kind of rattle do you have?

Any imperfections in the road surface makes the car sound and feel like there is no suspension under it at all. Maybe the shocks or struts? I don't know. I do know that it should feel smooth and not make a lot of noise.
