Will 225/65/17's fit on my 09 g6?

Definitely not fit. Even 225/55-17 is already one size too large.

I use discount tires size calculator for this stuff.
The 225/65 is going to be really tall.
As for the 225/55r17 as to big, respectfully disagree, and here's why-
That size is near identical to the overall height of the 18's on my GT, and I actually run the 225)55/17 as my winter tire.
Mathematically, it's perfect.

You need to compare it to the stock tires of your particular model. Suspension and speedometer calibrations are different for different trim levels.

Well, aside from that, you could also take a look at these wheels and tires. Just by looking at the specs, you may get an idea of the compatibility (size, brand, type, etc.) between the tires and rims and your car.
