Hi, 2009.5 Pontiac G6 Convertible. When I hit the button to put the top down it starts the process unlatching the reversing trunk and roof top then the "Top Not Secure" message shows up on the dash which stops the process. Pump continues to run attempting to proceed but fails to complete. I am able to reverse the button reattach the trunk and top and everything is normal just cant put the top down. This has done this at random in the past but now it is prevalent.
Looking through the trunk, no leaks or broken wires, any help would be great.
Thanks!

I had the same, gave up, and had to have my shop scan for body codes with a Tech 2, and that led me to broken wiring.
It's got a wire or switch not reading right.
The car takes the command to unlatch the top and raise, it unlatches then checks that the latches are open. If the switches aren't reporting open, it shuts the pump down, rather than operate the rams and break stuff.
Autozone scanners won't do it. You need a good shop that has a Tech 2 or will do GM body code scans.
With codes, you can use bulletins on this site to track down issue.
