My service traction and stabilitrak lights come on but the ABS light doesnt. When they do come on the brake lights come on and stay on. And once in a while when this happens my transmission will down shift to 5th gear and stay in 5th untill i pull over and shut off the car. Iv put a new brake light switch in the car and nothing has changed. Sometime i can go days without the lights coming on and then sometimes its everyday. Most of the ways to fix this problem would invovle the ABS light to be on also so im kinda stuck. Every mechanic i talk to says they need a ABS code to figure it out. Im guessing now that its a bare wire or a bad ground somewhere with it being so random. Anyone ever had this issue. Help would be appreciated. THANKS.

There is nothing particularly useful in the service manual. Other service documents look to be related to specific diagnostic codes. The mechanics are probably right, you would be best placed to get the codes from a scan tool that is able to read the electronic brake control module. Sorry that it is not much help.
