Its a extra thing he does to make it appear like a stock ecu. The dealer will never be able to tell it is tuned by their equipment by using common sense yes but not by their equipment.
Do you have all screws tight in your head?? :bash:

That is STOCK ECU ...it is just reprogramed ...DUH

And don't worry dealer can tell if he looks that the ECU doesn't have factory tuning therefore you have your original to put it back in if
you need some service done under warranty period.

:bandit:
apparently you haven't been around for awhile because their is a actual bulletin by GM telling dealers how to see if the ecu mapping has been modified or not. Also he asked what the invisitune option was on his site, I was explaining it. You don't need to be rude when I am just trying to be helpful.
Sorry but let me get this straight. i am located in canada, and i am interested in this tune. if i purchase it off the site; is it all good to go? or does someone have to program it? i am confused lol
swap ecu and have to do crank re-learn......
sorry but what is a 'crank re-learn'...dont know anything about cars.
sorry

I've been around for to long, now i see that you were explaining Invisible tune ...I understand what you were saying. your original reply wasnt clear, so one can read it wrong ...I apologize.

I guess what he is tring to say is:

To swap the ECM you need to disconnect the battery, once you hook the battery back on and start the engine you should drive the car for 10-15 minutes so it can learn main engine parameters. Resaon for disconecting the battery is to prevent any damage to the electronics in the ECM while unplugging old one and plugging new one back.
k cool makes sense. one other thing, where is the location of this tune (i.e where do i put this in the car).

ECM (Engine Control Mudule) or some call it PCM (Powertrainn Control Module) is located on G6 on front of battery towards front of the vehicle ...next to the windshield washer bottle.

You can't miss it, look at the picture @wams website and you'll recognize it under your hood :)

Tune is inside the ECM, you don't put the tune in ...you replace the ECM with one from wams that is programed for performance.
i got a question, might be silly though.. if I order the 87 octane option, will there be any difference at all? any HP gains at all? etc?
anyone on here gotten a tune for a the I4 6spd? Kinda curious as to how much it affects the performance.

maybe a few HP, the biggest change will be that the car will shift at different points than you're used to

I don't think there are many people that actually get the 87 tune, mostly 91 or 93
Whole purpose of the custom tune for most of us is "PERFORMANCE" ...so if you're looking for true performance where you can take maximun advantage of spark advance then go with the highest octane, in other hand most custum tuners can make you economy tune
where you could have great MPG ...wams might have something for economy too?!

Any custom/ performance tune is better then factory tune :D
Mines a wams 93....
i was looking at the WAMS tune for the 2.4L but since I have a 6spd auto it said i needed to bring it in or something for the TCM. Someone please make some sense out of this for me.

If you wanted the TCM done you'd need to bring it to us in Michigan otherwise just get the ECM portion done. The TCM is inside of the trans and not really easy to swap ;)
is the tcm bit actually necessary?
im ordering the powerflash cable from vector to do my tcm .i heard the tcm tune is almost same affect like the ecm tune, especially in the six speed autos....
one question.. if i get the 91 octane choice, how does that add more MPG? doesn't a higher octane level decrease the mpg?
