I was reading a thread on tuning and it brought to my attention this site... http://www.vectormotorsports.com/in...facturer_id=0&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=28
Everything looks legit but what I've read from other threads, they make it sound like the G6 is hard to tune..But what I noticed is that they had hp test curve and the GT on a dyno only has 179 to 167 hp 5500 rpm. I just wanted some clarification on whether this thing works or not

Well as far as tuning it depends on what engine and year.
I would check out
http://www.whiteautoandmedia.com/
Its the tune i have and so do many others. He has the same tune as vector except his is more updated. And its cheaper. I know if you search you can find more info about the tunes. But it was the best mod i ever did hands down.
Whats the difference between your tune and untuned
Whats the difference between your tune and untuned
Are you kidding me?
Are you kidding me?
The question was directed to his specific tune..If you look at the web site i posted it gives a list of stuff that the tune would do. And im sure not all tunes are the same. Its easy for a person to assume that it does whatever but im not the type of person to assume things thus the question was raised. And if you look at the question I said "your tune" not tuning in general. So if you arent going to help get out this thread dwhiteg6gt
(93octane)It changed my rev limiter, power band, shift points, quicker shifts, I noticed the fan turns on at different times than it used to. The throttle response feels way better. Also when passing it down shifts quicker to hull ass LOL. I have an 05 v6 so my Transmission and Engine where tuned with the ECM. I know he said he made over a hundred changes. But alot goes into each of those things. And you can tell. He also owned a g6 and a malibu(has the same setup as the 6) for years thats why i went with his. He made many changes to the tune after he stopped dealing with vector.

So like I thought the tunes vary. But I tried that link but it said the site was closed or something
well they very because of what engine specifically like I have the Lx9. Also The trans is separate in some models i believe. And i would just send him a message And he usually only does the tunes on the weekend because hes busy with other cars and forums.
Where is he located and how much did it cost
He is located in Mich. And its I believe $300 if you send in your ECM or if you buy a new on out right its PLus $125 That way you wont need to wait for yours or if you sell the car you can put the stock one back in if you wish.
Just PM Chris or email him. He only does tunes on the weekends now as he is
a pretty busy guy. He also wrote the tune for Vector back when he worked there
so ask him the difference.

His username on here is GTPPrix.
Alright thanks Lampoon
Just to address something in the first post, 179/167 at the wheels roughly translates to 220/205 at the crank. Don't know if that makes anyone feel better but maybe it will :)
Yeah i used that number with other Dyno's ive seen to guesstimate what i have VERY roughly. But ill never know until i go to a real dyno. The real numbers might disappoint me though LOL
