1,800 miles on my 08 GXP - I get about 29 hwy; 21 city. I average about 23 with mostly city driving.
I still get 28 mpg with mostly highway driving in my Impala (3.8L V6). I did get an average as high as 32 mpg. The 3.9 obviously has more power, but might also have more aggressive gearing. Also if you have larger rims, that adds additional weight to rotate...not to mention the additional weight of the convertible.WOW! 35.7 for a 3.5 by GUNIA is awesome. I drove about 25 straight highway miles after a fill up today, and got 25 MPG from my 3.9.
Had I not joined this forum I may have never heard these troubles you and others are having. I owned 2 Pontiacs before the G6 and have had great expereinces with them both. Now, with the G6 I am still in favor of Pontiacs cars. Maybe I'm just getting lucky. (?) Sure, there are some small issues that pop up but nothing a little TLC won't cure. There have been a number of electrical gremlins with the G6, and the dealer experience has not been positive. Which is why I will probably get a Honda next.
I think that is due to the weight of the car. Personally I feel a 6 cyl should be standard. My 6 with an LX9 gets better gas milage than the 2.4 so whyI always thought the city mileage was a little low for a 4-cyl.
