Wait a minute...The manual as well as my dealer told me the remote start will run "about" 10 minutes before shutting off. How are you getting >15 minutes then? Is there a way of changing the setting. I know on my old '97 Tahoe with a Prestige aftermarket alarm/autostart I could change the setting from 10, 15, 20, or 30 minutes. I could even set it to automatically start and run for that time period every 2 hours with touching a button. I never used it, but would come in handy on those -30 nights to let it run and warm up every few hours.S8ER99 said:Wait..you know I probably figured out my awesome gas mileage.. I use the remote start every single day (multiple times) and the car usually sits and warms up for ~15mins if not longer.
Actually the manual saysStabbin_G6 said:...The manual as well as my dealer told me the remote start will run "about" 10 minutes before shutting off.
This means if you time it exactly you can use the 2 remote "starts" to get a total of almost 20 minutes engine run time. When you perform the 2nd remote "start" you basically reset the timer to 10 minutes.G6 Owner Manual said:The remote start feature provides two separate starts,
each with 10 minutes of engine running. Or it provides
one start with 10 minutes of engine running, which
can be extended by 10 more minutes. Once two starts
have been provided, the ignition switch must be
cycled to on and then off, to get two more remote starts.
Ok, but that is not a continuous run. After the first 10 minutes is up it shuts off, then you start it again. Am I reading this right?e2helper said:Actually the manual says

It can be continuous if you are careful.Stabbin_G6 said:Ok, but that is not a continuous run. After the first 10 minutes is up it shuts off, then you start it again. Am I reading this right?
