Wiring aftermarket seat heater

3300 Views 4 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Dmanj
I have an aftermarket heated seat kit for my 07 G6. What is the easiest way to wire it into a power source that will only be active with the ignition? Has anyone added aftermarket seat heaters? Thanks for any help.

Did you find any answers or try it yourself? I am going to be trying this in the very near future, will let you know if I have any luck.
what wires do you have to the heater harness? you should just be able to tap into one of the fuses in the fuse box that are ignitioned fuses and just ground to the ground points. but without knowing th other wires i dont know what else you would need to do. mine has aftermarket seat heaters but i had them professionally installed

Dont have the heaters yet, I think I might be able to tap into the lifter on the drivers seat, as I have the base model G6, that might save me from having to go deeper into the car.
Personally i'd go from the fuse box in the center console. Just get yourself one of these bad boys and you'll be set.

That way you are not adding any load to another circuit. The last thing you want is for the fuse to blow because you're overloading the circuit.
