in the front door or rear ? i replaced my back speakers about 2 hrs ago... with some Polk Momo MMC690's i found that 4 wires go to each rear speaker and the 2 go to the sub one is green with a black line and the other is blue with a white line. which is pos or neg i do not know. the other 2 go to the tweeters or mid speaker that sat on top of the 6X9. those wires are are both solid blue one lighter than the other .. this on on my back passenger side then on the drivers side the wires are completely different colors .. the sub wires are the same colors but the other top speakers colors were white and brown.. in all of this i don't know what wire are pos and neg but they sound good.. im going to try a different way of wiring it tomorrow and i will post my results then .. by the way i have an 06 GTP Silver with the Monsoon

I am actually trying to install a indash dvd player without having to go through the whole process of that special install kit with the display for the engine statistics. I won't really miss this and right now i don't have the money for that kit. But i need to know which wires on the old wiring harness correspond with the ones on my new dvd harness.
ooo... i have yet to try and replace that .. i myself have to save up the money to replace that... I have not seen the wires coming out of the radio so i cant say.. u wouldn't by chance know how to get the front door panels off ? i cant figure out where the screw is holding it ... i think i did but i broke a star bit trying to unscrew the damn screw...
Figured It Out

Ok so today I went out and installed the Jensen VM9410 indash DVD player. I did not want to go and have to spend 130 bucks on the kit to preserve the lcd screen to show me my mpg and ect. The entire install cost me $35. The wiring took some time to figure out but here it is...
LF Speaker (+)Tan (-)Gray
RF Speaker (+)Light Green (-)Dark Green
LR Speaker (+)Brown (-)Yellow
RR Speaker (+)Dark Blue (-)Light Blue
12v Constant - Thick red wire
12v Ignition - ran from fuse box HVAC (ign.)
Ground - Thick black wire

To make the dvd player play all the time I hooked the parking brake wire to ground. This worked great and the only features that the car is missing is what would have been displayed on radio display. The door chime, dome light, remote entry, and everything else works perfectly.

This was done on an 06 pontiac g6 without the monsoon radio.

Do you think it would be the same on the monsoon ? back to my polk momo's I installed .. i ended up hooking a Jensen 500W to them using the power wire from the exhisting amp in the back passenger side of the trunk then i grounded it to the back seat frame.. then used hi imputs.. then just wired the speakers from there...i only hooked up the Subs' on the Jensen .. I used the factory amp for the tweeters and mid on the polk ... sounds good... then instead of replacing the factory 6 1/2 in the driver and passenger door's.. I added 2 6 1/2 Focal polyglass to my passenger doors.. so now my system has Focal tweeter's in the front.. Factory 6 1/2 in the driver and passenger doors... then the back 2 doors have the 6 1/2 Focal's also i wired them off my 500w Jensen.. and then in the back the Polk MoMo mmc690's what ya think >? and i still am using the Monsoon Head unit... IT sounds awesome I just need to find a remote wire to use for the Amp ... are there any factory wires in the trunk vacinity that could be used for a remote wire ?

Impressive system you got going there. As far as the wires being the same on the monsoon radio your answer is no. The monsoon runs many more speakers and other features off of it. That is the only reason I was able to do this install like this was because i had the lower model radio. And for the remote wire, I have always ran them from up by the head unit to the trunk and i hide it under the lower door trim. I've never tried to find a source in the trunk so i couldn't help you there. But if you decide to run it from the head unit it only takes about 20 minutes to get to the radio. Really easy if you follow the directions on this board.
shouldn't my factory amp have a remote wire to it ... but the bad thing is ... there is about 30 wires coming out of it... IT's stupid... it's almost like the factory doesn't want people like us messing with it and improving what they think is good enough.... hopefully soon i can get some pictures up... it's nothing impressive to the eye but the sound quality is ++++++

Hey man, do you think the remote start will still work with out putting in one of gay looking kits that are out. I really don't care about not being able to change any of the settings but I am wondering if the settings will stay after pulling the head unit out.
Anyone know what color the Radio wire is comming off the fuse box?
