I am replacing my wife’s rack and pinion this weekend (2006 G6 3.5 w/ elec. p/s) and the manual say to replace the lower pinch bolt on the intermediate shaft. I went to the dealership and bought part # 26058124 (which I believe to be the correct part number) and they gave me the bolt below. This bolt has a flange solidly attached to it and the points of the bolt head are pressed down so there is no way to turn the bolt. Can anyone who has done this verify if this is the correct part?

Ok replaced the rack and pinion yesterday and the part above is not the correct part. Both the lower and upper pinch bolts for the intermediate shaft on her car were just flange bolts with an 11mm head. Im guessing the GM parts system has it listed incorrectly. Since I didnt have replacements I just stripped off the old threadlocker and used threadlocker medium when reinstalling them.
I'm replacing my rack and pinion and I'm having a similar issue with the bolt. I tried everything I could including a very strong air wrench and all it did was stripped the bolt. I am considering breaking the old bolt with a torch but I'm curious to know what the new bolt is that I need to pick up? Also if you have any suggestions instead of my torch method I would love to hear them.
